My obsession with dogs was ignited at a very young age by my best friend Molly, who was sadly taken from us at just seven years of age due to bone cancer. I made a vow to myself that never again would I have one of my beloved dogs taken away from me too soon. So, as a teenager, I started geeking out on dog health; reading books, scouring websites and speaking to anyone that would listen to me! I learned that the average dog lives to 11 years of age. But what fascinated me even more was the fact that many dogs, with a good diet, exercise and the right supplements, can go on to live to 15 or even 20 plus years old in some cases. To know that Molly could have had double or triple the lifespan, was heart-breaking.
However, I converted my pain into a force for good and so my personal life mission was born: “To help dogs live longer, healthier and happier lives.” During our research phase, we found that existing supplements for dogs were lacking in high-quality ingredients.
Many also used some well-known ingredients as “marketing tactics” even though those ingredients were simply not present in sufficient quantities to make any difference at all. Knowing most of the companies around were large global corporations that put profits ahead of doing the best for dogs further empowered us to create our privately owned family-run business that puts dogs, and their owners, first.
